Stockland The Pines (previously known as The Pines Shopping Centre) is a sub regional shopping centre owned by Stockland in Doncaster East, Victoria, a suburb of Melbourne, Australia. It was opened on 27 October 1986 by the state opposition leader of the time Jeff Kennett. The centre is located 19 km east of the Melbourne CBD on the corner of Blackburn and Reynolds Roads. The centre's 4 anchor stores are Coles, Woolworths, Aldi and Target. Amenities include a library, several banks, over 100 speciality stores and undercover parking.

Public transport

The centre has a four bay bus stop between its southern entrance and car park. The Pines is frequently used as a park and ride by residents. It is also used by students from nearby schools as a bus interchange.

Expansion

In 2004 the centre underwent an expansion in which Coles, Aldi and many other speciality stores were added to the north. A multi-purpose community facility has recently been opened at the back of the centre. Opinions are mixed in relation to the expansion, with some enjoying the wider range of shops available, while others mourn the smaller, more intimate nature of the The Pines before its redevelopment.
